JAWS / PE’AHI
This gallery documents a passion project centered around Peʻahi, known around the world as Jaws, during one of the biggest swells to hit Maui’s north shore in over a decade. Departing from Kahului Airport at 4:30 PM with GoFly Maui, we flew out across the coastline and into the heart of an unforgettable evening, photographing from the helicopter as massive lines marched into the break below. For two hours, until the last light disappeared, the goal was to capture the raw energy of the wave, the scale of the moment, and the intensity that makes Peʻahi one of the most revered big-wave locations on earth. Shot alongside fellow photographer Cody Roberts, this body of work was driven by pure passion, awe, and a deep respect for the power unfolding beneath us. One of the images from that session was later published in Kai Lenny’s book, Big Wave Surfer.
